The Fantasea UWL-04F is a high-quality wet super wide-angle conversion lens designed for underwater photographers using compact camera systems. Engineered for flexibility and creative freedom, it attaches directly to the housing lens port and can be installed or removed mid-dive, allowing photographers to adapt instantly to changing underwater scenes.

Optimised for compact cameras with a 28mm (35mm equivalent) lens, the UWL-04F enables expansive wide-angle imaging without sacrificing proximity to the subject. This makes it ideal for capturing dramatic seascapes, wrecks, divers, and large schools of fish while maintaining excellent water clarity and making full use of natural or artificial lighting.

It also supports close-focus wide-angle (CFWA) photography, allowing you to get close to your subject while still including a wide, immersive background—perfect for dynamic, high-impact underwater compositions.

Optical Performance & Creative Control

With a 0.42x magnification and an ultra-wide 160° field of view (when paired with a 28mm lens), the UWL-04F delivers impressive perspective and scale underwater. Its 5-group, 5-element optical design ensures strong image quality, while advanced multi-layer anti-reflective coatings on all glass elements help reduce flare, improve contrast, and maintain colour accuracy in challenging lighting conditions.

The optical dome is treated with a durable hard coating for improved scratch resistance and long-term reliability in harsh marine environments.

Flexible Compatibility

The UWL-04F is designed for broad compatibility across compact underwater camera systems. It features a 52mm thread mount and can be attached directly to compatible lens ports or adapted using optional thread converters.

Included in the box is the EyeDaptor M67-F52 adapter, allowing seamless use with housings that feature a 67mm threaded lens port—making it highly versatile across different setups. In some cases, wider lenses can also be used by zooming in slightly to avoid vignetting.

Durable, Dive-Ready Construction

Built for demanding underwater environments, the UWL-04F combines an aluminium alloy and ABS housing with a hard anodised finish for strength and corrosion resistance. Designed to withstand depths of up to 60 metres / 200 feet, it is suitable for recreational, technical, and professional diving applications.

Despite its robust build, the lens remains practical in the water, with a manageable underwater weight that ensures stable handling during dives.
