What is SSI XR?

XR stands for Extended Range – a series of advanced diving programmes from SSI (Scuba Schools International) designed for divers who want to go beyond the limits of recreational scuba diving.

SSI XR training opens the door to new environments and challenges, such as:

• Deeper diving with the use of gas blends like Trimix and Nitrox

• Longer bottom times using staged decompression techniques

• Overhead environments including wrecks and caves

• Technical equipment configurations such as twin sets and sidemount systems
