    Avatar make exposure protection for divers, mainly drysuits and the layers that go under them. The design is deliberately straightforward rather than feature-heavy.

    Developed with input from cold-water and technical divers, Avatar products are designed to work in demanding conditions without unnecessary complexity. Cut, seal placement and material choice all shape how a suit fits and how it moves with you over a long dive.

    Avatar sit at the more affordable end of the drysuit market, which is often what makes one a first drysuit rather than a second. What that price does and does not include is worth going through before you order, and we are happy to do that with you.

    What Dive Rutland stocks from Avatar

    Our Avatar range is two drysuits and one baselayer, each available in men's and ladies' cuts: the Airon 101, the Airon 102 and the Baselayer 901. The 101 and the 102 are separate suits rather than two sizes of the same one, and their specifications differ, so read the manufacturer specification for each before you compare them.

    Getting the fit right

    A drysuit only really works when it fits, and sizing charts are not consistent between manufacturers — do not assume the size you take in one brand carries across to another. Check Avatar's own size guidance for the model you are considering, and if you can get to Rutland, come and be measured. We would far rather spend half an hour with you in the shop than have you guess from a chart.

    If you are putting a drysuit setup together for the first time, it is worth thinking about undersuits, hoods and drygloves at the same time rather than afterwards. They are part of the same system, and what you wear underneath changes how the suit fits over the top.
