The Enriched Air Diver course is the most popular diver speciality course and the number of technical divers is on the rise,which means that lots of scuba divers want enriched air and gas blends. So, there needs to be someone qualified to administer these fills to meet this demand. This is where the Gas Blender course comes in.
The programme can can result in one of two certifications – SSI Gas Blender or SSI Trimix Blender
Are you looking to work as a Dive Professional be that in a Dive Centre / Resort or on a super yacht, then this is a key skill requirement complete the course and can expand your career prospect.
What Do I need to start on the SSI Gas Blender course?
You must be:-
- A certified Enriched Air Diver (or equivalent); and
- Aged 18 or over
What will you learn on the SSI Gas Blender course?
- Knowledge of the advantages and disadvantages of different blending methodologies.
- Understanding of the potential hazards related to handling oxygen, and how to manage those hazards.
- Explain the steps for oxygen cleaning.
- Describe the requirements for oxygen service.
- You will complete practical elements resulting in your blending mixes to within one percent of the target mix

Completing this course give you a full appreciation of the safety protocols, risks and hazards of handling gas mixtures as well as increased understanding of the gas you are breathing or planning to use.

As part of the course you use the SSI online academics provided on signup to your course for you to complete the relevant Knowledge Reviews, which you will review with your Instructor during your classroom session

Our courses are running pretty much all of the time, so if a course is advertised and the date does not work for you or no date is advertised just get in touch and we can arrange for dates that are mutually convenient.
Prior to any Diver training course students need to complete a Mandatory Medical Questionaire.
Please ensure that you have read the Medical Statement and are sure that you will be able to commence any diver training PRIOR to paying as our Training Terms Conditions apply after payment has been made.
A doctor's confirmation of fitness to dive is required if you answer YES to any medical condition on the Medical Statement.

Oakham Swimming Pool
The 25m heated swimming pool at Oakham School's Leisure Centre is perfect for scuba diver training and kids' diving courses. This state-of-the-art facility provides laned sections for focused training and a comfortable, warm environment, ensuring an ideal learning experience for divers of all ages and skill levels. Whether you're refining your technique or introducing children to the wonders of diving, our pool offers the perfect setting.
Our pool session(s) are on Saturday evenings from 18:00 - 20:00, with a meet at the Dive Centre prior (this time will be confirmed when you book). The time at the Dive Centre is spent on various activities depending on which course you are undertaking but for all first session this will involve introducing you to your instructor, the dive equipment you will be using in the pool, a safety briefing and the evenings activities. During non term time then we have a pool session available on a Thursday from 19:00 - 21:00.
