Frequently asked questions
Almost all of it is sized on the cylinder's outside diameter in millimetres, not its capacity in litres — so two cylinders of the same volume can need different parts. Measure across the widest part of your cylinder, or check the manufacturer specification, before you order. If you can get the cylinder to the shop, we will offer the part up against it for you.
We do, including charging adapters used for filling. Adapters are specific to the fitting and to the pressure they are built for, so match the adapter to your valve and to the fill you intend rather than assuming one will cover everything — check the manufacturer specification. If you are not certain what is on your cylinder, bring it in and we will identify it with you.
We stock handwheels, rubber knobs, spindles, springs, screw nuts, Viton O-rings and manufacturer service kits, including oxygen-clean kits. External parts such as a knob or handwheel are within reach of most divers. Anything involving valve internals, or any work on a cylinder that still holds pressure, belongs with a qualified technician — if in doubt, bring it to us rather than guessing.
They mark what is in a cylinder and the maximum operating depth for that mix, so a cylinder is not picked up and breathed somewhere it should not be. We stock MOD decals alongside oxygen, argon and diluent labels. The MOD you write on a cylinder comes from your own analysis of the fill and your training agency's guidance — our step-by-step guide to nitrox formulas covers how it is worked out.
