About Halcyon

Halcyon began as a group of divers who knew what they wanted but could not find it in a dive store, so they designed wings and lights to suit themselves. They were not alone in wanting that, and the range grew from there. It now runs from equipment for newer recreational divers through to kit used on demanding technical dives.

The design approach has stayed consistent since: a plate, a harness, a wing sized to the cylinders you dive, and hardware you can strip down and service rather than replace.

The Halcyon range we carry runs from complete systems down to the hardware that holds them together:

Backplate and wing systems — the Eclipse single cylinder and Pro systems, the Evolve BC and Evolve wings including the JJ-CCR wing, and the Legend system.

Who Halcyon suits

Halcyon kit is built around one consistent idea: a plate, a harness, a wing sized to the cylinders you dive, and everything else clipped where you can find it without looking. That suits divers moving into twins, sidemount or overhead diving, and it suits recreational divers who simply want a rig they can strip down, service and rebuild.

Wing lift, plate material and ballast all interact with your cylinders and your suit, so check the manufacturer specification for the item you are considering rather than assuming one setup fits your diving. If you are putting a configuration together for the first time, come and talk to us.

That depends on the cylinders you dive, the suit you wear and whether you are diving a single, twins or sidemount. Wing lift, plate material and ballast all pull against each other, so we will not give a blanket rule here. Check the manufacturer specification for the lift and sizing of the item you are considering, and if you are configuring a rig for the first time, come and talk to us.

Yes. A plate and harness needs fitting to you, and it is much easier to judge a wing, a light or a reel with it in your hands. Get in touch before you come over and we will make sure the pieces you want to look at are here.
