Sidemount Accessories

Sidemount accessories are the parts that go around a sidemount system: weight and trim pockets, cargo pouches, buckle and D-ring kits, replacement webbing, butt plates, rail kits, and wings and harnesses sold separately. We carry parts from XDEEP, Halcyon, Hollis, Apeks and Ammonite System. Nearly all of it is made for a specific system, so check what your harness and wing actually use before ordering, or talk to us first.

Compatibility is the first thing to check

Sidemount systems are not built to a common standard. Webbing widths, buckle patterns, plate mounting holes and wing attachment differ between manufacturers, and sometimes between generations of the same manufacturer's system. A part listed here is made for the system its manufacturer designed it for, and we will not tell you it fits something else. Before you order, check the make, model and generation of the harness and wing you already own against the product listing and the manufacturer specification. If you would rather not guess, send us those details and we will check for you. This is the single most common thing that goes wrong when sidemount parts are bought by mail order.

    What is in this collection

Weight and trim pockets from XDEEP and Halcyon, expandable cargo pouches, quick-release buckle kits, slideable D-ring kits, replacement webbing, butt plates, and rail kits from Hollis. There are also XDEEP Stealth 2.0 wings sold on their own, in Classic, REC and TEC variants including redundant bladder versions, and a Stealth 2.0 harness sold without a wing. Apeks and Ammonite System supply smaller fittings. Specifications and fitment are on each product listing.

    Setting a sidemount system up

Sidemount is a configuration rather than a single product, and how it is put together is worked out and adjusted in the water rather than read off a page. We do not publish rigging instructions here for that reason. Dive Rutland is an active training centre and runs SSI XR technical courses, so sidemount is something we set up and trim with divers regularly.

Talk to us before you order

If you are replacing a worn part, tell us the system and the part and we will match it. If you are adding to a setup, it is worth a conversation first. The parts are specific, and it is quicker to check than to send something back.

    Frequently asked questions

Do not assume it will. Sidemount systems are not built to a shared standard, so webbing widths, buckle patterns and mounting points vary between manufacturers and sometimes between generations of the same system. Check the product listing and the manufacturer specification for the harness you own, or tell us exactly what you dive and we will check it before you order.
Yes. Several XDEEP Stealth 2.0 wings are listed here without a harness, including Classic, REC and TEC variants and redundant bladder versions. They are made for the XDEEP system they belong to. Check which wing your harness is currently set up for, and check the manufacturer specification, before ordering a replacement.
That depends on your system and on how you are weighted overall, which changes with cylinders and exposure suit. Weighting is worked out in the water rather than from a chart, and it is covered in training. Ask us, or ask your instructor, rather than ordering on a guess.
Yes. We are an active training centre and run SSI XR technical courses, so sidemount is something we fit and adjust in person regularly. If you are new to sidemount or moving between systems, that is worth doing alongside someone rather than working it out from parts lists.
