Suex

Suex make diver propulsion vehicles and the hardware that goes with them. We stock the VR Voyager, VR Quantum and VR Nemo, the Goldfinder XJ and XK, the Eron D-1 dashboard, the Sinapsi navigation nose and the Seika unit, plus the covers, handles, mounts, harnesses and cradles that go around them. A scooter changes how a dive is planned, so training matters. Talk to us before you buy.

    Who Suex are

Suex build diver propulsion vehicles — scooters — along with the navigation electronics, mounts and accessories that go with them. The range runs from compact machines up to larger units intended for long range technical and exploration diving.

    What we stock from Suex

The DPVs are the VR Voyager, the VR Quantum, the VR Nemo, and the Goldfinder XJ and XK. On the navigation side there is the Eron D-1 dashboard, the Sinapsi navigation nose, and the Seika unit, which sends position data to the Eron.

Around the scooter itself we stock protective covers for the XK, the XJS/XJT/SEVEN and the VRX/VRT, cold water and carry handles, the complete double handle, balanced and flat instrument supports, an elastic band video support, a universal video mount, a towing harness, an Explorer crotch strap, a webbing kit with hardware, a cradle for the XJ and XK, a battery pack, and a cleaning and lubrication kit.

    Accessories are matched to models

Covers, cradles, handles and navigation parts are made for particular Suex models. A cover cut for one body will not necessarily fit another, and the Sinapsi nose is only offered for certain machines. Check the manufacturer specification for compatibility with the scooter you own, and ask us if you are not sure.

You will not find run times, speeds or depth ratings quoted on this page, and that is deliberate. They differ by model, by battery and by how the unit is actually used, so take them from the manufacturer specification for the exact machine you are considering.

    Training comes first

A DPV changes how a dive is planned. How far you travel, how much gas that costs you, how you navigate back and what happens if the unit stops all need thinking through on the surface rather than at depth, and that is what DPV training is for.

Dive Rutland runs a range of diving specialities. If you have not trained on a scooter yet, have a look at what is available and talk to us about which one fits the diving you want to do.

    Looking after it

Scooters need maintenance between dives and over a season: rinsing, O-rings, lubrication and correct storage. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for your model, and if you want to talk through what one will actually need over a UK season, come in and ask.

    Frequently asked questions

DPVs: the VR Voyager, VR Quantum and VR Nemo, and the Goldfinder XJ and XK. Navigation: the Eron D-1 dashboard, the Sinapsi navigation nose and the Seika unit that works with the Eron.

Plus the hardware that goes around them — protective covers for the XK, the XJS/XJT/SEVEN and the VRX/VRT, cold water and carry handles, the complete double handle, instrument and video supports, a universal video mount, a towing harness, an Explorer crotch strap, a webbing kit with hardware, a cradle for the XJ and XK, a battery pack and a cleaning and lubrication kit.
It is normal, and sensible, to train before diving one. A scooter changes gas planning, navigation, how far you get from your exit point and what has to happen if the unit stops, and those are exactly the things DPV training covers.

Check the manufacturer specification for compatibility with the model you own. If you tell us which machine you have, we will confirm what fits before you order.
Those figures differ by model, by battery and by how the unit is actually used, so we would rather you took them from the manufacturer specification for the exact model than from a brand page.
