Scapa Flow - August 2027

Itinerary

1st August 2027 Arrive Stromness
2nd - 6th August 2027 Diving Dates
7th August 2027 Depart Stromness

A great week of diving aboard MV Huskyan, a purpose built dive boat with great dive briefings, a great skipper, really tasty homemade treats and the best (all the trimmings hot chocolate!)

The main attraction to Scapa Flow is the WWI German High Seas Fleet, entombed in the still green waters since 1919 following their scuttling by Admiral Von Reuter.

Three 25,797 tonne battleships, three light cruisers, one fast mine layer and numerous other sites related to the sinking lie within the main body of the Flow - all offering fantastic diving.

Covered in life, massive guns and breathtaking levels of preservation means these wrecks have something for everyone.

Staying at No15 Divers Lodge onshore accommodation, just 50 metres from the harbour.  The accommodation consists of:-

  • 6 bedrooms including a separate “snorers” room – just in case!
  • 5 bathrooms.
  • Fully equipped kitchen diner for 12 with an extra-large oven, dishwasher, microwave, larder fridge and freezer. We include cleaning products, kitchen roll and tea towels.
  • Large living room, leather sofas, Smart TV.
  • Washing machine & tumble dryer – we provide washing powder.
  • Unlimited wireless internet access.
  • Designated diver equipment charging station.
  • Egyptian cotton bed linen and towels – 2 × large bath towels per person plus head towels on request.

Please note that MV Huskyan and No.15 are Non-smoking.

Outstanding experience especially for young divers!

We had an absolutely fantastic experience with dive Rutland ! Tracy and the entire team was very friendly, helpful, and professional from start to finish. They went above and beyond to support our 13 year old for their open water course and her drysuit training.

What really stood out was the patience and care shown throughout the process. The instructors took the time to explain everything clearly, made our
daughter feel confident and safe , and ensured they progressed at a comfortable pace. It was never rushed - just supportive , thorough instructions from a team who clearly loves what they do.

Highly recommend Dive Rutland to anyone - especially families or younger divers. We’re so grateful for the experience and can’t wait to come back!

#1 training centre in my eyes. The team are friendly, courteous and astute to your individual needs and capability. Of course you’d expect to come away with a certification after paying your money; however, you come away with far more than the basic knowledge and skills to pass the certification, you come away feeling capable and competent and with a group of people you want to keep in touch with as friends and dive with more. Keep it up Dive Rutland!
