Try SCR Diving with the Mares Horizon

The SSI SCR program is your introduction to the rebreather world. This entry-level program gives you the opportunity to experience the underwater world, in a confined water setting using the Mares Horizon SCR. You will earn the SSI Try SCR recognition rating.
WHAT DO I NEED TO START?
- Minimum Age: 18
- Certification Prerequisites: Open Water Diver
- Complete the Medical Questionnaire which will be released to you via the SSI App.
WHAT WILL I DO DURING A TRY SCR DIVING SESSION?
For the open water experience, the session will start with a 2-hour equipment configuration session and a full briefing from one of our experienced instructors. You will use your own mask, fins, and exposure protection.
Sessions can happen at any UK inland dive site and will include at least 2 hours of water time. The pool experience is a shortened version, condensing all of the above into our pool time, with a focus on the in-water time.
The default open water site is Stoney Cove, additional fees are charged for other UK inland dive sites.
We have a maximum ratio of 2:1 with instructors to ensure you have the best possible experience.

Sign up for the XR SCR Diving (30m) certification and become fully qualified to dive on the Mares Horizon SCR

Open Water can be at any UK dive site and is arranged on request. The pool session is conducted at Oakham School pool.
Miniumum numbers required for open water (2) / Capernwray get a group of four together for a reduced price.

Prior to any Diver training course students need to complete a Mandatory Medical Questionaire.
Please ensure that you have read the Medical Statement and are sure that you will be able to commence any diver training PRIOR to paying as our Training Terms Conditions apply after payment has been made.
A doctor's confirmation of fitness to dive is required if you answer YES to any medical condition on the Medical Statement.

Oakham Swimming Pool
The 25m heated swimming pool at Oakham School's Leisure Centre is perfect for scuba diver training and kids' diving courses. This state-of-the-art facility provides laned sections for focused training and a comfortable, warm environment, ensuring an ideal learning experience for divers of all ages and skill levels. Whether you're refining your technique or introducing children to the wonders of diving, our pool offers the perfect setting.
Our pool session(s) are on Saturday evenings from 18:00 - 20:00, with a meet at the Dive Centre prior (this time will be confirmed when you book). The time at the Dive Centre is spent on various activities depending on which course you are undertaking but for all first session this will involve introducing you to your instructor, the dive equipment you will be using in the pool, a safety briefing and the evenings activities. During non term time then we have a pool session available on a Thursday from 19:00 - 21:00.
