A mask and snorkel bought together is the straightforward way into the water: holiday snorkelling, pool sessions, taking the kids. The sets here come from Aqualung, DynamicNord and Mares, in adult and junior sizes, and one of them includes fins as well. If you are buying for scuba rather than snorkelling, choose the mask on fit first and add the snorkel afterwards.

    What a set gives you

    A set pairs a mask with a snorkel that clips to it, in one box. It is the simple option for snorkelling, holidays and a first go in the water. We stock sets from Aqualung, DynamicNord and Mares. The DynamicNord MSJ-20 is the junior set and the MS-21 is the adult version of it; the Aqualung Nabul set adds fins, sized S/M and L/XL. Check each listing for what is in the box and how it is sized.

    Fit still decides it

    A set only works if the mask seals on the face wearing it. Faces differ, and a mask that suits one person will leak on another, which no amount of specification will fix. If you can get to the shop, try it on. If you are ordering, read the sizing note on the listing and buy for the person who will actually wear it rather than for the picture.

    Buying for scuba

    For scuba diving we would normally suggest choosing the mask on fit from our Masks collection and adding a snorkel from Snorkels separately, rather than starting from a set. It takes a little more thought and you end up with a mask that seals properly.
