PADI Drysuit Speciality

The PADI Drysuit Speciality allows you to experience UK Diving or cooler climates and  some of the amazing sites we have around our amazing coastline as well as just  extending your diving season.

If you want to see the spectacular and prolific aquatic life often found in cooler water climates you'll need to stay warm and that means a dry suit.  Yes you can dive here in the UK in a wetsuit but in winter months when the visibility is generally better why not take advantage of it.

Diving in a drysuit, provides you with the means to extend the UK diving season, stay warm and dry, but does change your buoyancy characteristics so this is a great course to learn all aspects of drysuit diving including looking after, packing away, weighting and streamlining of your equipment and the differences between the types of drysuits available.

What do I need to start the PADI Drysuit Speciality?

  • PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another organisation)
  • Minimum age: 10 years old

    • During the pool session, you will
      • Complete Weight Checks
      • Review and learn correct Equipment Streamlining

      • Get lots of practising swimming around in your drysuit along with gaining the understanding of how air migrates around your suit when driving

Throughout your time with us, you will be able to ask any questions you have to your professional dive team who have spent many hours drysuit diving.

Drysuit diving takes time to master, but with our expert tips and techniques you will avoid the common problems and potential hazards that people occur because they do not attend this type of training

How Long will the PADI Drysuit Speciality Take?

Over and above the pre-read, you will attend one confined water session and one day in open water

What is the Integrated option advertised?

Drysuit Integrated with Open Water

Our Deluxe package includes the Drysuit Speciality, but there are times when a student chooses the Basic or Standard package as they do not want to include the Drysuit speciality but at teh point of completing their open water dives, they decide to add the option to the last open water training day - this means that you complete three dives on day 2 of your open water course

Drysuit Integrated with Advanced Open Water

For comfort we recommend that all diving is completed in a drysuit here in the UK.  By completing the Drysuit speciality alongside your Advanced open water course you will complete six dives (Deep, Navigation, Drysuit x2 and two other 'dives' of your choice) - See the Advanced Open Water Course for more information

Any Other Costs?

Not included is the entrance fees for the open water site and personal travel costs

What is my next adventure after the PADI Drysuit Speciality?

Come diving in the UK or on any of our trips, after all that is why you qualified as a diver to go diving, have adventures and make friends - yes?

Dates Advertised or No Dates Advertised

Our courses are running pretty much all of the time, so if a course is advertised and the date does not work for you or no date is advertised just get in touch and we can arrange for dates that are mutually convenient.

If a date is advertised it will only be for the open water element and with this course you need a drysuit fitting and orientation prior - so get in touch for those scheduled dates.
