How long is the Emergency First Aid At Work (EFAW) Course?

1 Day practical training and is typically delivered in 1 day. However the mandatory 6 hours required by the HSE can also be delivered over a longer period of time should staff availability be a problem to your organisation.

What are the course materials for the Emergency First Aid At Work (EFAW) Course?

A high Quality easy to read Primary and Secondary Care Manual with First Aid at Work Participant Manual are provided to all attendees. A great resource to use during and after the course.

None, candidates must be physically able to carry out the detailed procedures (see course overview)

Is there an assessment to pass the Emergency First Aid At Work (EFAW) Course?

The HSE no longer require an independent assessment of Emergency First Aid at Work candidates. Throughout the course you will be continually monitored and assessed and complete a multiple choice question paper

Course Accreditation

This is a regulated course which is valid for 3 years from the date of completion but the HSE do recommend an update at least once a year.
