Coming diving with us off a boat or coming on holiday with us and and planning to boat dive for the first time then being well prepared means you will have the best experience.
It is also generally a requirement by a boat charter that everyone carries an SMB and reel / spool AND is able to deploy correctly.
We have 'built' this package to help you get the best out of diving with us and in a new environment.
The two skills and knowledge in this bundle are:
1) Boat Speciality - Know how to dive off a boat - how to store your dive equipment and how to use the head! Which side to be sick off (yes really there is a right side).
2) SMB - Be able to deploy an SMB and complete a safety stop whilst using. Having the right SMB, spool or reel for the waters you will be diving in.
Before we go away on a trip you will spend one day in open water with us completing our SMB Workshop and then during your first boat trip with us complete the Boat Speciality
WHAT DO I NEED TO START THE BOAT DIVING BUNDLE?
- Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another organisation)
- Minimum age: 10 years old
WHAT WILL I DO DURING THE BOAT DIVING BUNDLE?
You will complete our SMB Workshop over one day in an open water training site;
Read and complete the online elearning for the Boat Diver Speciality and then undertake two dives during a Dive Rutland dive trip.
Have fun and learn lots.
IS THIS A FORMAL CERTIFICATION?
Yes and No.. You will gain the SSI Boat Diver certification on completion of all the online elearning and two boat dives
The SMB is a workshop and not a formal qualification, but is a GREAT skill to have.
WHATS MY NEXT ADVENTURE ON COMPLETING THE BOAT DIVING BUNDLE?
That will be one more speciality towards the SSI Master Scuba Diver or if your second speciality you will automatically receive the SSI Speciality Diver Award.
