ADVANCED ADVENTURER OVERVIEW
The SSI Advanced Adventurer program is designed to immerse you in five distinct open water dives from various SSI Specialty programs (equivalent to the PADI Advanced Open Water speciality)
No need to commit to a full Specialty course - this unique program offers a taste of diverse dive experiences to advance your skills and explore your interests. Perfect for those uncertain about their next diving step, it's an ideal way to hone your abilities and pinpoint the Specialty programs that resonate with you.
We strongly recommend you undertake the Deep dive so as to take you up to 30m opening up your diving horizons.
Upon completion, you'll earn the prestigious SSI Advanced Adventurer certification. Embark on your diving journey with us today!
WHAT DO I NEED TO START THE ADVANCED ADVENTURER?
- You need to be an Open Water Diver or equivalent
- Aged 10 or 12 if Deep Diver included.
- For Junior ratings you need to be 12 -14 years old and instead of certifying to 30 metres you certify to 21 metres (if the Deep speciality dive is undertaken, otherwise you stay as per your Open water qualification)
- Mask / Snorkel / Dive Computer - No Dive Computer then we will loan you one, but ALL divers should own their own dive computer and we have a number of computers in stock and some great package deals
HOW LONG WILL THE ADVANCED ADVENTURER TAKE?
If the five speciality 'dives' chosen are in water then this will be two days

SSI ADVANCED ADVENTURER PACKAGES
Basic Package (£450) includes:
- Open Water Dives - five dives
Standard Package (£510) includes:
- Open Water Dives - five dives and either the Perfect Buoyancy or Dry Suit Diver speciality (6 dives total)
One more speciality towards your Master Scuba Diver Certification - which is awarded free on completion of the four specialities, stress and rescue and 24 logged dives in the SSI App.
WHAT CAN I DO AFTER ADVANCED ADVENTURER?
Go diving and continue to grow as a diver, maybe consider the Enriched Air Nitrox speciality or Perfect Buoyancy. Join our dive club and make new friends as well as join club trips and events. Work towards the SSI Advanced Open Water Certification or maybe just do that instead of SSI Advanced Adventurer.
Nottingham Scuba Diving Facility
The training facility at our Nottingham location features a purpose-built pool that is 4 meters deep and 10 meters in diameter, providing an exceptional environment for scuba diving training. The pool boasts fantastic visibility and maintains a constant temperature of around 29 degrees, ensuring optimal comfort for all divers.
A 1.6-meter training platform extends over 50% of the pool's bottom surface, offering ample space for practicing various diving skills. The pool's unique design, with a bottom depth of 4 meters, allows divers to swim in a 30-meter circular path, simulating open water conditions. This facility also includes a gas filling station, a classroom, and an equipment showroom, making it a comprehensive training center for divers of all levels.
Oakham Swimming Pool
The 25m heated swimming pool at Oakham School's Leisure Centre is perfect for scuba diver training and kids' diving courses. This state-of-the-art facility provides laned sections for focused training and a comfortable, warm environment, ensuring an ideal learning experience for divers of all ages and skill levels. Whether you're refining your technique or introducing children to the wonders of diving, our pool offers the perfect setting.
Our pool session(s) are on Saturday evenings from 18:00 - 20:00, with a meet at the Dive Centre prior (this time will be confirmed when you book). The time at the Dive Centre is spent on various activities depending on which course you are undertaking but for all first session this will involve introducing you to your instructor, the dive equipment you will be using in the pool, a safety briefing and the evenings activities. During non term time then we have a pool session available on a Thursday from 19:00 - 21:00.
